Transformed in 1972 from redundant farmland by a group of enthusiastic golfers who wanted a golfing facility for the local population the Downes Crediton Golf Course has matured into a beautiful parkland layout. With the River Yeo crossing the property and two ponds coming into play on the back nine Downes Crediton requires accurate shotmaking and offers an enjoyable experience for players of all abilities.

GreenFreeThe front nine holes at Downes Crediton Golf Club are set in the valley of the River Yeo with the back nine more undulating and affording superb views of the Devon countryside. While not a long course, it provides an excellent challenge with the river, streams and lakes coming into play on seven holes. The par 3 -13th at Downes Crediton Golf Course is a fine "all or nothing hole" being framed by trees, a railway line and fronted by one of the ponds.
