Golf Course Says
Dewstow Golf Club Valley Course opened in 1988 some year before its neighbour the Park Course. The land was part of Dewstow Estate and the course has made good use of the meadowland and farmland that made up the grounds. The trees that were already a feature of the landscape have been joined by 1000's of other that are themselves now maturing and that have become a real feature of the course. The ponds on the Valley Course attract not only errant shots: Wildlife is abundant including carp, dragonflies and, overhead, the lazy swoops of buzzards. The course has been designed to allow golfers to have easy clubhouse access from both the 10th tee and the 18th green so a nine hole round is not uncommon. So many memorable holes make it hard to pick a feature hole although many who have played Dewstow Valley Course would agree that the par three 7th with its drop from tee to green and water hazard comes close to demanding the 'signature hole' title. A course that is enjoyable for the novice and tests the low handicapper the Valley Course is not to be missed.
