Golf Course Says
Lying on the eastern side of Blackford Hill Craigmillar Park Golf Club moved to its present location in Edinburgh in 1907 and was extended to 18 holes by James Braid in 1927. The parkland course measures 5851 yards long and offers a number of excellent holes. The Dams, the par 3 15th, has players targetting a green that contains wicked slopes after carrying a burn that protects the putting surface. The greens at Craigmillar Park Golf Club are, however, comfortably large although various tree planting programmes over the years have increased the feeling of a true parkland course but provided ample punishment for the wayward drive.

Craigmillar Park Golf Club is very hilly but has several good holes that make the trip worthwhile. The 6th down by the Out of Bounds is a good risk/reward hole. The view from the 10th tee is worth the climb and the holes folllowing it downhill to the par-3 15th are all good tests, especially the 3 par-3s. Like most parkland courses, Cragimillar Park tends to be in better condition from June onwards.

Craigmillar Park Golf Course is a unique and challenging course near the centre of Edinburgh. With some great views over Edinburgh, Craigmillar Park Golf Course is a short course that can be overpowered by still requires a tight short game to score. The Craigmillar Park Golf Clubhouse is very welcoming and the food comforts any score. Usually well kept and lush, Craigmillar Park is worth a stop.
