There is no doubting Craigielaw golf course is a great course, with some very well designed holes, but I was disappointed. I played the first 11 holes, 3 drivable par 4s, 4 very short par 3s and 3 reachable par 5s, so really only one typical regulation hole, and even there I hit SW in. I heard had great things about Craigielaw Golf Course and its condition and was just surprised at the poor greens. They had been hollowed, in July?, and were also very inconsistent with pace. The clubhouse at Craigielaw Golf Course was excellent and the course is designed well, if you pick the right time of year it is a great course, but my rating represents the condition and impression on the day I played it.

Bring your best short game as if you miss the greens around Craigielaw Golf Course your going to be having a lot of fun trying to get back onto the putting surface. Craigielaw Golf Course is a new links course that still has the signs of being new with one or two severe greens. Still the course was enjoyable and the par 5 11th with water and Out of Bounds around the green is a real gem. The Craigielaw Golf Clubhouse is very relaxed and gives you great views over the Firth of Forth. Craigielaw Golf Course offers excellent practice facilities as well.
