Craigieknowes Golf Course

A nine hole par three course with holes of varying lengths Craigieknowes Golf Course is a short but challenging course on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Kippford. The course is perfect for beginners and children who want to learn in a relaxed and safe environment but the cunning design of many of the holes the more experienced golfer will be tested. The clubhouse offers much needed refreshment although an honesty box is sometimes in operation at quieter times.

We played Craigieknowes Golf Course when we had a free hour or so to spare before teeing off at one of the "proper" courses in the area. The course seems to be kept in fine condition and although the greens are not the finest you will ever play on they are more than good enough for a course that is perfectly suited to either a few short practice holes or for families and beginners. If not the most challenging course you will ever play then you will at least feel the need to "tame" some of the holes with certain greens well protected by the rocky landscape that is a feature of the area. Good fun and really ideal for allowing children to practice the game.
