Situated in the historic Coombe Wood Estate Coombe Wood Golf Club has a fine claim to fame - very few clubs have a serving Prime Minister as founding captain but back in 1904 with A J Balfour, Coombe Wood had just that. The course was extended to 18 holes in 1922 when Field Marshall Earl Haig was the captain. The course today has a par of 66 including the seven par 3's for which it is famous and some tricky par 4's where the tree lined fairways demand accuracy. Coombe Wood Golf Club extends a warm welcome to golfers of all abilities and is proud to be considered Surrey's friendliest members club.
