With views of Swansea, the Bristol Channel, the Brecon Becons, Black Mountains and Mumbles, Clyne Golf Club at the opening of the Gower Peninsula can boast some of the most spectacular and comprehensive views in Welsh golf. The course opened for play in 1920 overseen by Harries and Colt, the two foremost architects of their day. The course itself is essentially unchanged with two loops of nine holes leading to an uncongested and peaceful round, with excellent, large greens. Peter Allis includes Clyne Golf Club in his list of the 200 best courses in Britain - no surprise, perhaps, as his father, Ryder Cup stalwart Percy, was the club's first professional.
