Golf Course Says
Cleveland Golf Club is the oldest course in Yorkshire having been established in 1887. Cleveland is also one of the few links courses left in the region. An easy walking course of just under 6700 yards, the layout has all the traits of the great links course with bunkers placing a premium on accuracy and the wind really coming into play when the weather changes. A new clubhouse, opened by Sir Michael Bonallack, and three new holes were unveiled early in the 2000's. Proof, if any were needed, that Cleveland Golf Club is a course that reveres its past but is also every inch the modern championship golf club.
Cleveland Golf Course is a championship links course situated on the shores of the North Sea and is a true test of golf, especially when the wind is blowing. A beautiful new Clubhouse is currently under construction and this will open in early 2002.
The oldest course in the country, great greens, not the best views. Flattish. Can cause grief when the wind blows.
