Golf Course Says
Set in the stunning Derbyshire countryside the Chesterfield Golf Club was founded in 1897 and moved to its current home at Walton in 1906. As the course is set either side of a piece of woodland known locally as Riggot’s Plantation the course has two distinct characters with the last eleven holes being played on the lower western side and are characterised by the meanderings of Birdholme Brook whose presence is sure to challenge many golfers. At 6247 yards with a par of 70 this mature parkland layout will challenge players of all abilities and is an enjoyable test of golf.
Media Reviews
GreenFreeChesterfield Golf Club is a mature parkland course with many trees. There is a stream that comes into play on the back nine to catch the ill judged shot. The clubhouse offers one of the best views in Derbyshire.
Todays GolferHas flourished since Donald Steel's redesign. Rolling parkland has superb views. Lovely clubhouse dates to 15th century.
