In the heart of Edinburgh, close the famous Murrayfield Stadium, the par 70 Carricknowe Golf Club measure 6055 yards. Extensive refurbishment has been carried out with the front nine being reconstructed in line with USPGA guidelines and the front and back nine now providing the golfer with a fine contrast between the modern and old. The course remains a wonderful challenge for the golfer of all abilities and offers a very different morning or afternoon's experience in the capital.

Todays GolferA flat muni course, easy walking is the venue's main plus point. Little trouble off the tee and you'll cough up under £20 a round. Try and pick a sunny day to play - can be heavy going after a lot of rain.

Carrick Knowe Golf Course is awful! Typial council run course.
