Carnoustie Burnside Golf Course is too often forgotten about as people think of the Championship course. Make no mistake the Burnside is full of character and, especially from the back tees, is a tremendous test of golf for any handicapper. The shorter holes are really Carnoustie Burnside Golf Course's claim to fame and many of them would complement any links course in the world. The 5th and 14th are particular tests of the resolve of any golfer hoping to make par. Burnside offers no rest as play comes to an end with the 17th regarded as one of golf's toughest par 4's and out of bounds awaiting the errant shot on 18.
