Golf Course Says
The Carrick is part of the De Vere Cameron House Hotel and is situated on the banks of Loch Lomond. A beautiful course the Carrick was designed by Doug Carrick and is magnificently kept throughout the year. Nine holes cling to the lowlands at the shore of the loch and the other nine move into more highlands with sloping fairways and incredible views. The De Vere Cameron House Carrick in an incredible golfing experience. A nine hole course, The Wee Demon, is also part of the complex.
Golfalot Review of Cameron House Carrick Golf Course
The Carrick golf course opened in June 2007 and we played it soon after launch. Immediately you can see that this is going to be a very fun course to play in the future. The first 3 holes around the clubhouse area are fun but a bit 'modern'. However once you cross the burn to the loop of the 4th to 8th you are right in the scenery and experiencing some great holes, particularly 4 and 8 which are excellent. Holes 9-12 take you up the hill and were it not for the amazing views over Loch Lomond, they would be very ordinary. From 13 onwards we are back into more traditional holes and the 14th has fantastic views of Ben Lomond. The closing holes have less room for error as they edge along the Loch before returning the the modern clubhouse, which is very luxurious. Overall we would say the Carrick is an above average resort course with fantastic views over some of Scotland's best scenery. Worth a play.
