Golf Course Says
Buxton and High Peak Golf Club opened in 1887 and is the oldest course in the Derby area. The club is famed for the warmth of the welcome it affords visitors who play the course. The course itself has natural drainage that makes it a year round course while the wind can often be a factor in determing the success of a round on the 5966 yard, par 69 layout. The course is set over 1000 feet above sea level but it remains a reasonably gentle walking course that is a fair test for all golfers. Buxton and High Peak Golf Club also offers excellent catering facilities.
Media Reviews
GreenFreeOften influenced by the prevailing winds, Buxton & High Peak Golf Club's 5,966 yard par 69 parkland course provides members and visitors with a challenging and enjoyable test of golf. Although set some 1100 feet above sea level, the course is not subjected to arduous hill climbs.
Todays GolferImpressively set 1100 feet above sea level and very much exposed to the elements. Your game is bound to be affected by the prevailing wind but the course is playable year round. Breathtaking views.
