Burnley Golf Club

Founded in 1905 as a nine-hole course the Glen View golf course at Burnley Golf Club was extended to 18 holes in 1914 and has provided a challenging but fair test of golf to member and visitors since. With panoramic views existing from all areas of the course, including the ‘Three Peaks’ of Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent, the course utilises the rolling countryside to great effect and is a test for players of all abilities. Measuring just under 6000 yards with a par of 69 the course has a number of formidable holes, none more so than the long par 4 5th that is bordered by out of bounds all the way along the hole and whose fairway is crossed by a river. With a collection of testing par 3’s that feature strategic bunkering and tricky greens, this clasic heathland layout will ensure the golfer is on their game if they are to score well. With a hectic competition calendar Burnley Golf club has a thriving social schedule and a very active membership.
