Golf Course Says
Buchanan Castle Golf Club is only 30 minutes from Glasgow and lies in a heavily wooded area that can lay claim to housing every tree native to Western Europe. The course is close to Loch Lomond and to the north are the Luss Hills and Ben Lomond. The lush parkland course, which is still owned by the Duke of Montrose, opened in 1936 and was another of the Scottish courses designed by James Braid. One of the most spectacular features of the course is the inclusion of two tall tree framing many of the fairways at around 200 yards or where the doglegs start to turn. You'll find this first example of this on the first hole. The stunning beauty and fine challenge of Buchanan Castle Golf Club make it a course you will remember.
Media Reviews
GreenFreeBuchanan Castle Golf Course, designed by James Braid, lies on the plain of the Endrick, less than one mile from Loch Lomond and it is a delight. The clubhouse was built on the site of the ancient Buchanan House, home of the Buchanan family which had held lands on Loch Lomondside since the 13th century.
