Bruntsfield golf club is a classic clubhouse in the old mold. The Bruntsfield Links course is usually quiet and is spread out over a generous plot of land overlooking the Firth of Forth. The course itself is a good test with some good par-5s such as the 4th and some good short dogleg par-4s at 6, 10 and 16. However you are better being wildly offline than just a little offline from the tee as the trees will block you out. Depending on the wind you can get a lot of airplanes flying over to land at Edinburgh airport which can be a little off putting. However the clubhouse and in particular the dining room at Bruntsfield more than make up for this. You will need a jacket and tie at all times so come prepared.

Bruntsfield Golf Course is a great parkland course. Set out superbly on the suburbs of Edinburgh, it can play long if played in wet weather but is a great target golf course that offers a lot of varied shots and scores. The Bruntsfield Golf Club is quite an elite club and you will feel sometimes unwanted by stuck up members, but as a course it is one of the best in the region.

Bruntsfield Links is a great course but you have to wear jacket and tie to get into the clubhouse. Might suit members but in this day and age it's a bit out of touch. Still I enjoyed the course. There were some great par 4's of varies lengths with the 13th standing out. Two good shots required. Bruntsfield Links was in good condition but the clubhouse was a let down.
