Today those two politicians are immortalised in the gentler pursuit of first class golf with the Brocket Hall Golf Club's Palmerston and Melbourne courses bearing the names of the two leaders. The Brocket Hall Golf Club Palmerston Course was designed by the much admired Donald Steel and makes the most of the mature landscaping of the estate. Scots, Canadian and Hornbeam Pine trees jostle for position with 300 year old oaks. The trees around the course make for not only spectacular backdrops to the Palmerston's 18 holes but also form a major part of the course's challenge: are you accurate enough to avoid the trees?
