Brampton Golf Course was origninally designed by James Braid and this beautiful heathland layout still maintains the feel of a traditional Braid design. Situated in North Cumbria the club benefits from spectacular vistas of the Lake District, the North Pennines and Southern Scotland the course not stretches to 6,407 yards from the back tees with a par of 72 (S.S,S 71). The undulating land ensures that the course is a challeng to players of all abilities and has regulary been picked out as an outstanding place to visit, with Golf World describing it as the “Jewel of Cumbria”. A friendly and welcoming club, casual visitors as well as sociities and corporate outing are welcome.

Booked to play Brampton on the way up to Scotland for a week of golf. Easy to find off the M6, arrived in pouring rain to find the Pro had closed the first 4 holes!Eventually decided to play and luckily the rain kept away thereafter! Quite a few boggy lies but "preferred lies"! overcame that. Brampton was a very well kept course despite it being first weekend of season!. Attractive, excellent scenery and a good test - alot of blind shots and a bit of climbing - to elevated tees! - well it is Cumbria! Awkward par 3`s - and so they should be! Course split in two across quiet lane. par 4`s are good for high handicappers as they give you a chance in distance to chip onto the green and get away with one putt - but mainly it was 2. 18th was a welcome sight and a classic long haul to front of clubhouse which I found deserted on a Sunday afternoon! Except for a very obliging and friendly stewardess who provided me with soup and a brew to set me on my way to Scotland.
