Golf Course Says
Set in Bowood Park estate that once formed part of a 13th century deer park owned The Black Prince, Bowood Park Golf Course is regarded as one of the best parkland courses in the South West of England. Designed by Bob Sandow and opened in 1992 the par 72, 6692 yard course really does challenge players of all abilities with two contrasting loops of 9 holes. The front nine is the more forgiving of the two, although the par 5 600 yard 7th hole is the longest hole in Cornwall when played from the championship tee, however the start to the back 9 will test the very best of golfers. The 10th is a visually dramatic par 5 that sweeps down round a dog-leg into the valley whilst the 11th is a tough long par 3 of 228 yards. Having tackled these two holes the golfer is not faced with Bowood’s signature hole, a picturesque tree lined hole that both borders and crosses the fairway. Maintained in excellent condition the course truly offers something to golfers of all abilities.
Pleasant parkland, good facilities. Isn't inspiring but provides commendable golf holiday.
