Where2Golf.comThe Boat Of Garten golf course, designed by James Braid, is beautifully laid out beside the River Spey and the Speyside railway (still running small steam loco's). Boat Of Garten commands some lovely views, but the fairways will look quite exacting from the tee, the course having been created in a birch forest.
National Club Golfer"The Gleneagles of the North" and a magnificent setting for the game. A demanding test, the 6th is regarded as the signature hole.

Unlike other highland courses I have played, Boat Of Garten golf course it relatively flat and looks like it should be in Berkshire. It's narrow fairways are boarded by heather as you wind through the trees. We played it in August and the Boat Of Garten fairways were made narrower by their firmness and the greens tested all your shot making skills. Boat Of Garten golf course is not particlularly long, but if you are offline you can get severly penalised, particularly over the front nine where the trees are very close to the edge of the fairways. The back nine opens out a little and you get some great views of the Cairngorms, but it is still a challenge. Boat Of Garten golf club is a great venue for a quality game of holiday golf if you are in the area and the welcome at Boat Of Garten is very friendly.

Boat of Garten Golf Course is a great course that has a wide variety of holes. The views from around the course are out of this world. The 6th is a great par 4 that needs a precise drive to give you a chance to hit the green. Greens were consistent put a bit slow. Boat of Garten Golf Course is worth the trip to play just for the views alone.
