GreenFreeBishop's Stortford Golf Club was founded in 1910 and was designed by James Braid with the help of Douglas Rolland and H.S. Colt. The course was originally owned by the famous Gilbey Family, who regularly hosted games against the Houses of Parliament, a tradition that is still celebrated by their current Parliamentarians golf society. Bishop's Stortford Golf Club is a traditional members club, the course has enjoyed major investment in recent years including the building of a magnificent new chalet style clubhouse which can cater for up to 180 visitors. The course itself is a delightful blend of tight tree-lined fairways and water features, with the picturesque Pond Hole 8th being particularly worthy of mention. The 18th hole is viewed by many as the best on the course, and taking an extra club for your approach is likely to save you a stroke or two. Getting to Bishop's Stortford Golf Course is easy with regular flights to nearby Stanstead Airport.
