Since the members took over the course the improvements have been, unbelievable! This course is in fantastic condition all year round, due to new and improved drainage and the general upkeep of the course! This is a very long course, you start off with two par 5's followed by three par 4's, the ability to drive straight is an advantage, although long irons from the tee's can give you some good results! The fairways are tree lined, but rarely do you find yourself without a shot. I'll not talk you through hole by hole but pick a few out which I think are of interest! As I said before the first two are par 5's which are straight forward, you can see the greens. Holes 3, 4 and 5 have aiming markers be sure to aim at them! 6 is a par three don't under club this one. 7 is the next par 5 drive aim your drive just past the trees on your left to leave yourself in the middle of the fairway beware the bunker on the right just out of sight over the hill. 8 is up hill and catches a lot of people under clubbing after their drive. 9 is a par three and very down hill, depending on the wind this can be extreme in the selection of clubs! Wind in your face can lead you to pick up your DRIVER, if the wind is behind you can go as far and select a 7-8 iron! The down slope is quick so you can land it short and roll on to green. 10,11, 12 lead you to the far reaches of the course. The pleasure of this course is The Park 13, 14 and 15 mature trees all around, protected from the wind at all times and in the summer the rhododendrons are superb an absolute pleasure to play these holes. 16 is straight forward. 17 is a par 3 and has a special feature, a huge bunker guarding the green. A trip into this bunker will cost you not only shots but a voluntary contribution to the Captains charity in the club house. 18 a par 5 the most daunting hole on the course as there is a main road that follows this hole all the way on your left hand side, and if any body says they are not affected by this in their choice of clubs or shot selection then they are lying.

I never cease to enjoy myself on this course even after a bad round. By the way I forgot to mention, the greens are fast! Whatever kind of golfer you are I guarantee you will enjoy yourself here, and you can expect a very warm welcome at this course by all members and staff. Enjoy
