Golf Course Says
Bathgate Golf Club can boast of not only an excellent course but also two Ryder Cup captains in the shape of Eric Brown and Bernard Gallacher. Formed in 1892 the 6328, par 71 course provides a number of intriguing obstacles including the burn which criss cross the fairways at the 1st and 14th and provides a stern test as it makes its way in front of the 17th green. Five par three's provide a particular test for golfer's of all abilities. Another former Ryder Cup captain, Sam Torrance, is the club record holder with a wonderful round of 58.

Bathgate golf course is a tough test of golf with the burn and out of bounds coming into play on a number of holes. It starts gently enough before getting tricky at the sharp dog leg 3rd. Just lay up straight ahead and you still have an easy approach! Not renowned for it's scenery the tough 5th heads pass the car factory before heading back towards the clubhouse and the par-5 12th around the corner of the out of bounds. The finish is relatively straight-forward apart from the dangerous par-3 17th. Bathgate's greens are normally in pretty good condition, but can be wet in the winter months and early season.
