Ballinteskin Golf Course

What a gem of a par 3 course! We spent a week in the area, a little worried about how we were going to entertain our teenager and pre-teenager. However, we didn't need to worry. This course was perfect for the whole family, the children loved coming here every day. We even made friends with the 2 donkeys in the field beside the 7th tee! We got a great welcome each day from the owner, who gave great encouragement to the children (and us when we needed it!) All in all, a great course, with a good mix in the degree of difficulty over the 9 holes. Very nice scenery and a very pleasant ambience.

This Par 3 course is an oasis of tranquility and is set in such beautiful surrounds the views absolutely take your breath away. The course design is top class with lots of mounds, hills and deep bunkers to challenge even the best golfers. However, it suits all levels, as holes are relatively short, all equipment can be hired, family rates are given, and the resident Labrador, Diego, is child-friendly and is one of the many features that help give this family-run course such a personal touch. I will be back definitely. We could also take in the many other tourist attractions in the area, including the Dunbrody Famine Ship, John F Kennedy homestead and Park and Hook Lighthouse. The area is just beautiful. The course, I would give it an A+!
