Golf architect Roger Dyer joined former Ryder Cup players Neil Coles and Brian Huggett to design nine holes of Auchmill in the early 1970's. Since then the course has grown to 18 holes and enjoys a wonderful, elevated layout that offers spectaclar views across Aberdeen and Aberdeen airport. The undulating nature of the land lifts some of the holes to challenge even the experienced golfer. And don't miss the ninth hole. The Frog is a par three with a difference!

The course used to be owned by the council, and was never in the best of conditions due to the area of Aberdeen that it is located. It was more a Motocross track for the local neds rather than a golf course. Has since been made private, and in far better condition. I must say it has some fantastic laid out holes. Some large greens. 2 testing dog-legs, the 18th in particular, and the par 3, 9th is it 7 Iron? 8 Iron? 9 Iron? One of the best par 3 in the area that's for sure. The par 5's are very reachable in 2 even for the high handicap golfers. Good for value. Worth a round if your up this way..

Although not set in the best of areas Auchmill Golf Course is a rather good all round golf course with goods view over Aberdeen well worth a visit.
