Golf Course Says
Just north of the village of Aboyne, and in the heart of Royal Deeside, Aboyne Golf Club is a wonderful challenge for all golfers and many people who play it attest to it be one of the great golfing experiences in the area. Stunning scenery is the common theme through a rich blend of parkland holes and heathland holes that provide a more links like test. Make sure you enjoy the incredible scenery. Aboyne Golf Club nestles next to the Loch of Aboyne and there are incredible views of the Dee Valley including some of the areas famous peaks. The area's unique microclimate and wonderful natutal drainage make Aboyne a must at any time of the year. You can find Aboyne Golf Club on the A93, midway between Banchory and Ballater.
Aboyne Loch Golf Club lends character and scenic beauty to the course as well as providing a hazard to be avoided on the last hole of the somewhat flat outward nine. Thereafter, Aboyne Loch Golf Course climbs gently and from the highest point provides magnificent views of some lovely Aberdeenshire countryside.
Aboyne golf course is your classic course of two halves. The front nine has a very open parkland feel to it as you play through the trees. The back nine is the older looking nine set on the side of the hill. This does not necessarily make it easier and there are some great par-3s at 12 and 14. The last hole is a gentle finish and the 1980s style clubhouse makes up for in views what it lacks in character. Played Aboyne with an Open Fiarways deal and it was great value for a fun round of golf.
