Abama Golf and Spa Resort

Located in the unique setting of Guía de Isora, Abama resides in a spectacular estate atop a smooth hillside of the Teide mountain, the highest on Spanish soil. Abama is a par 72,18-hole golf course designed by Dave Thomas who, with the architect Melvin Villarroel, created a fusion of harmony between the holes and nature. A tactical course that winds its way through and around 22 lakes, 90,000 palm trees, bunkers of marble sand and immense greens, Abama's design fits perfectly into the area's topography. The lowest point of the course is 78 meters above sea level whilst the highest is 315 meters so it may be worth booking a golf cart to get around. The views from the holes of the Atlantic Ocean and the Island of La Gomera are fantastic; the sea and the land blend in a setting of luxuriant vegetation. With the views, the thousands of palm trees plus desert and tropical species and a layout that is designed to be enjoyed by players of all levels this is a spectacular and truly idyllic location.
