West Lothian Golf Club

The West Lothian Golf Club has been greatly developed since the great Willie Park laid down nine holes on the site in 1892. The course was completely revamped in the mid 1970's with the Fraser Middleton designed 18 hole layout that visitors and members enjoy today opening in 1979. The club prides itself on the upkeep of the course and visitors to West Lothian Golf Club are rarely disappointed by either the welcome or the golf on offer.

West Lothian Golf Club is a fairly decent track with a few good holes, 12 and 16th come to mind but it did have a couple of those quick to forget holes as well. The 15th was a disappointing par 3 next to the clubhouse. Greens at West Lothian Golf Club had plenty of grass and were a bit slow to putt on. Hillier than I thought and was not the easiest to find.

West Lothian Golf Club is a fantastic course with so many different holes. The people in the pro shop and restaurant couldn't do any more to make my party feel welcome. The greens were in superb condition when I played in July 2005 and some were lightning quick. Overall I was very impressed and will be going back to West Lothian Golf Club at some point.

West Lothian Golf Course is an OK course, that is about all I can say. It lacks any real character and is damaged by a lot of holes that are squeezed into the layout. With some testing holes and nice views it will be an enjoyable round, but West Lothian will not inspire the die hard players.

West Lothian Golf Club has a very nice set out with many different lengths of holes. Some of them you have to think about, before just blasting down the fairways with a driver. The last, a 230 yard par 3 is an excellent hole to finish with. The bar and food were cheap. Well worth a visit.
