Taymouth Castle Golf Course

Taymouth Castle Golf Course is one of the best courses in Perth and also one of the best kept secrets in Scottish golf. The course was laid out by the golfing legend James Braid (five time Open champion and prodigous designer of courses). There may be harder courses and course which can lay claim to spectacular views of their own but none can compare to the spectacular grandeur that greets the player on every hole at Taymouth Castle Golf Course. Water features and the odd slope add real drama to the mature parkland course.

What The Media Says

GreenFree

The meandering Aldavalloch burn comes into play on several holes on the front nine at Taymouth Castle Golf Course while strategically placed ancient trees are a feature throughout this thoroughly enjoyable eighteen. There are, in Scotland, more testing courses but few can compare with Taymouth Castle where beauty and grandeur can be experienced at every hole.

Everyone raves about Taymouth Castle, but I am not sure why. It could be fantastic if they got the Castle part going and tightened the course up as the scenery is wonderful. Other than that it is your usual course in the grounds of a stately home - flat-ish with not much interest. The first and par-3 3rd are the best on the course. Pretty good for highland course, but given the competition in the area, not much of a claim.
