The St Andrews Strathtyrum golf course occupuies a flat piece of land between the Eden and the main road into St Andrews so it is a very easy walking course. Not overly long, it makes up for this with several raised greens with steep slopes all around them, so if you miss them you are going to find life difficult. Really this is a course for mid to high handicappers as there are very few bunkers and at just over 5600 yards it is playable by most levels of golfer and it is prices accordingly. Better players will also enjoy it as it will test your short game and we liked this as a fun course for that morning after round or light hearted game full of side bets.
