Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club

Warmly known as 'P and K' Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club hides in the looming sand dunes that dominate this stunning section of the South Wales coast. The course was designed by that great course architect Harry Colt in 1922 but World War Two intervened and half the course was taken over by the army. That had a lasting affect: An army road through the middle of the course became a popular spots for Sunday drives to the coast and the proximity of golfers, fairways and cars became a major safety concern. The decision was made to extend the course towards the sea and leave the Sunday drivers to it and the Pyle and Kenfig Golf Club as we know it today was born. P McKenzie Ross designed the new layout and openly relished the chance to work with land that he felt was perfect for the needs of links golf. Today the course continues to develop, evolve and thrill and is real championship test that challenges even the very best.
