What The Media Says

GreenFree

North Wales Golf Club possesses enormous character with humpy, hillocky fairways, awkward stances and the occasional blind shot. Heather and gorse lurk immediately beyond the fairways and several of the greens are defended by deep bunkers.

Where2Golf.com

Bounded by Conwy Bay and the local railway line, North Wales is a very intriguing and scenic links course. With views which include the sea and the beach, occasional passing trains, Snowdonia mountains, Llandudno, Anglesey, the Great Orme headland, two other golf courses (Maesdu across the railway and Conwy across the Bay) and some local housing, you may be hard pressed to concentrate on your golf - but concentrate you must. Although quite open, there are some tough shots to make - especially on the shore-hugging 9th, 10th and 11th - all par-4's. The 4-3-3-4 ending is perhaps a bit quirky, especially starting as it does right in front of the clubhouse lounge bar. Do not expect the North Wales course to be presented in mint condition, tee-boxes and fairways could certainly be improved - but do expect a course that grows on you as it unfolds.
