Leven Links Golf Course is sometimes used as an Open Championship Qualifying course so you know that it is going to be a quality course and it was. Typical good greens for a seaside course and with the wind blowing it made those downhill, down-wind putts very tricky. Some great holes throughout Leven Links Golf Course but the 18th might be the hardest finishing hole in golf. Normally into a wind it requires a long and straight drive to even think about going for a green surrounded on 3 sides by a stream and large railway sleepers. Make 4 here and you have hit 4 great shots. Leven Links Golf Club is a friendly and welcoming golf club as well.

I played Leven in September 07 and thought the course was a fantastic test of golf. We were made very welcome on arrival; the starter was also very helpful with some tips. The greens were superb and the layout of the course was also superb. The par 3's were very tough into the wind. The 18th is definitely the hardest closing hole I have played and was unreachable for myself and my playing partners, the wind was quite strong on the day we played, and even then the stream running along the front of the green would have made us play tactically anyway. Overall a fantastic links course and I intend to play it again next year.
