King James VI Golf Club is the only course in the UK than can claim to be a self contained river island course. The course moved to its present location on Moncreiffe Island in 1897 when Old Tom Morris was employed to design a new layout. Today the course offers all levels of golfer an intersting and exciting game in exqusite surroundings. King James VI Golf Club is an 18 hole parkland course with excellent drainage. Although its island setting means it is surrounded by the River Tay the water is not always obvious thanks to the trees. Be warned, however, the water is never far away for errant shots!
