Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club lies on the edge of Troon and, for over a century, golfers have been enjoying pitting their wits against a wonderful links course. The course has a par of 72 but the Standard Scratch for its 6817 yards is 74. The creation of nine new holes has changed the links but the new layout has already hosted a number of national championships and Open qualifying. Another layout, the Kilmarnock Golf Club Dundonald Course, uses many of the same holes and is often used in the winter months. |
