Glen Golf Club

The Glen Golf Club plays on the East Links at North Berwick on East Lothian's famous golfing coast. A par 70 the course offers a 12 month golfing experience at reasonable rates. The Sea Hole, which was one of Golf World's 18 Dream Holes and features on the cover of the book The Most Extraordinary Golf Holes in Britain, nestles among the rock of the seafront and offers incredible views of the Bass Rock - a world renowned seabird colony. The Glen Golf Club may not be as famous as some of its neighbours but it offers visitors a stunning golfing experience.

What The Media Says

Todays Golfer

Clifftop cracker, a worthy alternative to fabled West Links. You'll never forget the par 3 13th or the par 4 finale. The unsung hero of golf in East Lothian, arguably offers the area's best value for money.

Where2Golf.com

The tough climb at the par-4 first will not just clear your lungs, it also brings you to an elevated level above the sea, where you'll play most of the holes on North Berwick's "East Links". The views here are simply stunning, whether they be back across the town and towards North Berwick's pudding-shaped hill (called The Law), or over to the ruins of Tantallon Castle (from the 8th tee) or out across the Firth of Forth and onto the imposing Bass Rock (most holes). The blind par-3 13th is one of those holes to cherish at the Glen - a little jewel, which may require a pitching-wedge or a 3-iron depending on what the wind is doing. Short maybe, but don't miss this gem of a course - Pebble Beach without the glitz and glam, and a par-4 18th to match anything at Pebble !

The Glen Golf Course is a good course with a nice friendly atmosphere in the club house. Once you get over the climb at the first the course spreads out with some fine holes. The par 3, I think the 13th reminded me off the 7th at Pebble Beach with the green situated out on the rocks with the sea all around. A great hole. Some great views from the Glen Golf Course up and down the east coast as well.

Glen Golf Club maybe the little brother of the West Links in North Berwick, but it does boast a challenging 18 hole course. Glen Golf Course has a strangely inland feel for a course that borders the sea. The course is spoilt by a few lack luster holes, but does present golfers with some memorable holes. The 13th hole at Glen Golf Club can test a PW or 3 iron to golfers and will be the centre of many discussions in the friendly clubhouse afterwards.

North Berwick's Glen golf course is shorter than the more famous East links, but is good fun all the same. Once you are into the heart of the course on top of the cliffs, you get some great views and the condition of the course is usually very good. The par-3 13th is the gem in the course and one of the best par-3s in the Lothians. Can play anything from a wedge to a long-iron depending on the wind and there is no bail-out area. The Glen is worth playing for this hole alone!
