Scottish golf course guide, reviews, online tee times and 2for1 discount green fees.

Edzell Golf Club Old

Edzell Golf Club has, since 1895, enjoyed a wonderful location at the foot of the Angus Glens with the Grampian mountains providing a stunning backdrop to this fine course that mixes heathland and parkland. James Braid made major changes to the course in the 1930's and Braid's vision remains intact today. Long considered one of Scotland's treasures Edzell Golf Club Old Course was found to have no weaknesses by a leading golf publication at the turn of the millennium.

What The Media Says

GreenFree

Set at the gateway to the Highlands, Edzell Golf Course lovely heathland course that has the grandeur of the Grampians for a backdrop. The Pro's advice is to keep it in play and take plenty of club to the big greens.

Todays Golfer

Every time I go back to Edzell, the trees seem to have encroached slighly further. Accuracy off the tee is of paramount importance here, each requires a careful and well executed strategy.

Where2Golf.com

The gentle opening hole at Edzell gofl course belies some of the longer tigther tests to come, although generally there is enough room to open the shoulders from the tee on most holes. The closing stretch from the par-3 14th is the best and most scenic part of the course, with much of the middle section being a flattish area with different types of conifers (young and ole) separating the fairways. Not the stiffest test of golf in Scotland, but at Edzell a pleasant outing is assured.
