What The Media Says

Todays Golfer

Starts and ends fairly unimpressively but has 14 holes of world class quality in between. A worthy Open qualifier.

Dunbar Golf Club is another quality links course on the east coast. Not in the greatest of conditions but a very good layout. The 2 opening holes are par 5's running in opposite directions before a short par 3 leads you towards the coast line. Very enjoyable course that makes you hit every club in the bag with the constant wind. Dunbar Golf Course is definitely one to play.

Dunbar Golf Club is set along a coast filled with awesome golf courses, and it doesnt disappoint. A true links challenge is offered at Dunbar Golf Course with many traditionally links holes combined with a basic outward front nine and inward back nine, that means the wind will usually rule over your game. The greens are typically first class and fairways are perfect for the links style course. Dunbar Golf Club welcomes visitors and the clubhouse is a very attractive venue for resting after 18 holes.

Dunbar is a good test of golf and like all links courses the wind makes it a different test every time you play. There are plenty of birdie chances in the opening holes, but further out the course gets tougher. I liked the holes 4, 5, 16 and 17 near and over the water, but the rest of Dunbar seemed a bit bleak as the scenery is not as good as the other courses in East Lothian. However Dunbar is an Open Qualifying course so is worth playing.
