Crail Balcomie Links is the home of the Crail Golfing Society, the world's seventh oldest golf club. The Balcomie Links was laid down by Old Tom Morris in 1895 and you can feel the history as you walk the course. Although not long the course provides interest on every hole and you can enjoy splendid coastal views from every tee. The area is famed for its bays the rocky outcrops of the Forth and at the 2nd and 4th holes these are brought into play to prepare you for the fifth (Hell's Hole) where you are facedd with the dilemma to play safe and take the long route or to play over the golfen sands. The 13th and 14th are also memorable but Crail Balcomie provides warm memories for the visitor no matter what the score on your card. |
