What The Course Says

Opened in 1998, Belas (pronounced Bel-ash) is already recognised as one of the best courses in the Lisbon area. It's also one of the most difficult - a score of 10 over par here would equate to about 4 over on most other courses. The 1st hole won't exactly set your pulse racing, but just wait till you see the par 5 2nd, which has been compared with the 13th at Augusta. Pinpoint accuracy is required all the way round, but especially on the last two holes, where you must hit over water to reach the green. Buggies recommended.

Pretty, relatively rustic start. Sloping, bunkered greens abound. Playable by all standard but do use the tee appropriate to your standard.
