Baildon Golf Course is a fine example of a moorland links. Treeless, all-but sandless, and with a total length of slightly more than 6,000 Baildon Golf Course is a first rate example of a moorland links course - situated close to Bradford the course offers magnificent views of the Yorkshire Hills and distant purple moors. Without any trees and very few bunkers the chief hazard is the highly individual and all-encircling rough. Although not as penal as in some periods of the clubs history it means that accuracy is at a premium on the 6231 yard par 70 layout. The holes are stretched out across the moor with no parallel fairways available to rescue the errant shot meaning precision is vital. This is certainly the case at the par 3 2nd hole that is rated as amongst the best in the country. |
