Almenara is one of the most thrilling courses on the Costa del Sol, with three sets of 9 holes that can be played in various combinations. It has a spectacular layout built around a series of vast lakes. Strenuous in parts, it delights at every turn and offers some breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. Dave Thomas has designed the new 9-hole loop, opened in 2001, in similar fashion to the existing back 9, with lots of water, tight, undulating fairways, deep bunkers and scenic beauty.
