It was in the mid 1930's that James Braid set about designing Alloa Golf Club in 150 acres of rolling parkland in the shadows of the Ochil Hills. Today the picturesque and tree lined course remains a challenge that will intrigue the best golfers and provide much enjoyment for the average player. At 6200 yards with a par of 70 the course is one of the finest in the area and visitors cannot help but enjoy the final four holes: two long par three separated by two long par fours they provide a fine closing test - especially with the ditch in front of the 17th green.

Didn't know what to expect when I teed the ball up on the first at Alloa Golf Club but after about 3 hours play I was pleasantly surprised. Not the longest course or hardest but very enjoyable. Some great par 4's with the 2nd and 16th standing out. The 16th being a dogleg right par 4 that you can't miss either shot with. You have to hit fairway then the green to make par. Alloa Golf Course would be a good outing course.
