Although only a par-68, Aldeburgh is a delightful heathland course with a linksy feel and pleasant views over to the River Alde. You are often required to hit straight to avoid the ever-present gorse or substantial bunkers. Aldeburgh's long par-4’s, compensate for no par 5’s. A combination of John Thomson and Willie Fernie’s work in 1884, and later re-construction by J.H. Taylor and Willie Park Junior in 1906 has resulted in a course well worth the 2-hour drive from London.
