Wilson Staff Shockwave Driver

The Wilson Staff Shockwave is the lightest ever high performance driver from Wilson and is designed to give golfers greater swing speed that translates into more power and distance. The ultra-lightweight Shockwave tips the scales at only 265 grams, 10% lighter than standard drivers on the market and 25 grams less than the award winning Wilson Staff Smooth driver.

With the simple formula of lighter equipment leading to greater swing speed and greater swing speed producing longer distance every gram of weight in the Shockwave was scrutinised by the Wilson designers to produce this club. The Shockwave has had the thickness of all the clubhead walls reduced to save weight and even non-essential paints have been made to save 2 grams. The biggest weight saving, however, comes through the ultra-light 50 gram shaft series from UST Mamiya, whilst a low-density compounds also produces a grip that is 8 grams lighter than standard shaft grips.

The only extra weight in the Wilson Staff Shockwave is a 5 gram tungsten screw that has been designed to pull weight deeper into the head and promote a higher ball flight without sacrificing the high MOI (Moment of Inertia) that ensures stability of the clubhead at impact. As a result the ultra-light Wilson Staff Shockwave is a driver that punches well above its weight and delivers a heavyweight performance every time.
