The Wilson Staff Pi7 irons deliver maximum performance and forgiveness for the creative shot-maker. The smaller blade size and shape preferred on Tour features a soft top line and reduced offset with a longer hosel that cuts through rough lies. The Wilson Staff Pi7 small, compact clubhead provides a clean set-up and hides the perimeter-weighted cavity. While the heel and toe weighting delivers a high Moment Of Inertia (MOI), the longer irons offer a slightly wider sole and larger head for improved playability. In addition, the Tour proven Dynamic Golf steel shafts offer the flex and weighting desired by Tour players for a low, penetrating ball flight and ultimate control. Wilson Staff Pi7 irons also feature the new Golf Pride DD2 grips which use multiple layer material technology delivering stability and control with comfort and style.

If you are the creative shot-maker and player that Wilson are targetting with the Wilson Staff Pi7 irons then you will probably like them. We feel that for all but the elite amateur or pro, these irons aren't forgiving enough and that there are several other good sets of forged irons that perform better in this category. The other alternative is the Wilson Staff Ci7 irons which are excellent and have all the good looks of the Pi7 with much better performance, forgiveness and feel.

The Wilson Staff Pi7 irons are a good set of irons. They look good and sit well at address. The top line is a bit thick for a better players iron, but they are easy to hit and shape the ball with. Good flight, looks and solid at impact. Can’t ask for much more. Only downside would be that the grips did feel a bit thin.

I have bought a set of the Wilson Staff Pi7 irons after hitting over 150 balls with a 6 iron. Great high ball flight, soft landing and easier to shape shots than any of my previous irons. The grip is a little thin, but my pro is putting a couple layers tape under the grip which fixes that. I used an impact sticker for the custom fit, there were 2 marks after the first couple hits which were either side of the sweet spot a good 1/2 inch apart, but both shots flew almost identical, about 5 yards further than my old irons. Shots off the middle I find went a few further yet, but I think the irons are much more forgiving than they are given credit for. You do need to find irons which suit your own game, but I think you should consider these if looking for a new set and wanting a classic looking iron. Nice thin top line and club head weight too. Solid strike and feel when you catch these irons, definitely recommended. Only put off for many may be that it is not one of the 'big' brands. These are comparable to Taylor Made R7 TP in looks at address, but I hit these further with no extra effort, and more often out the centre.

The Wilson line of P irons continues to produce quality irons at a good price. The PI7 are really nice at address, look down and they look great and made for low to mid handicap golfers, hit them out of the meat and they feel real sweet.
