The Wilson Staff FG Tour Irons are the next generation of forged irons from Wilson Staff that combine classic looks and feel with the latest technology in cavity back irons to produce a club that inspires even the top Tour professionals. Tested by Padraig Harrington the Wilson Staff FG Tour’s have been designed with low scoring in mind and have drawn from the company’s unique heritage that has claimed 61 professional majors to date. Based on the famous FG17 irons they feature a classically shaped shot makers head, precision milled from forged carbon steel for a responsive feel, and have been modernised for today’s highly skilled players.
The Wilson Staff FG Tour Irons may look a bit angular when they are in the bag, but when you put them at address they look great. The top line will appeal to better players and the head size is generous without being too large. The feel of the forged head and the performance was excellent and it was easy to shape shots with a decent level of forgiveness. This is the first Wilson forged cavity back iron and they have done a great job.
