Golfers wanting a golf ball that is explosive off the driver for maximum distance yet extremely soft for feel around the green, can have the best of both world’s with the Wilson Staff Dx2 Soft golf ball. Looking to maintain the distance advantage of the original two-piece Dx2 ball, while adding a softer feel, the Wilson R&D team came up with a startling discovery in the form of a super-soft distance ball. In testing by Wilson, the Dx2 Soft proved itself to be more than 30 compression points softer than the Titleist NXT and ahead of eight other leading distance balls, while maintaining its impressive distance figures.
As the first brand to use Nano technology in golf ball production, Wilson has made the Nano-Tech core of the Dx2 Soft ball 22% softer than the original version, without sacrificing resilience or durability. The rubber core chemistry is reinforced with nano particles to enhance the composite structure for higher strength and maximum velocity at impact. A proprietary 50-50 lonomer blend on the cover produces 50% higher ball speed and 50% pliable spin-enhancing characteristics, delivering lower than average driver spin for maximum distance and driving accuracy, but higher spin rates off the scoring clubs for great results around the green.
On the outside of the Wilson Staff Dx2 Soft ball, exclusive PhD (Pan Head Dimple) Aerodynamics technology creates large, shallow dimples (50% more shallow than standard) that promote a higher launch trajectory, while a sharp joint between the steep walls and the flat bottom of each dimple helps sustain stable flight at lower speeds and reduces drag.
