The Wilson Staff Di11 golf irons are the longest set of irons ever produced by Wilson Golf and in testing are longer than all leading rivals in the same club category. With feature enhancements to previous ‘distance’ category clubs in every key performance area the Di11 irons are the most forgiving iron on the market.

The Di11 incorporates the largest sweet spot of any Wilson iron – 36% larger than other game improvement clubs in the same category – made possible by the weight being taken from the perimeter of the face and inside of the cavity, leaving a unique, large, unsupported face. Wilson Staff have reduced vibration on off-centre shots in the Di11 by using a coating of a lightweight elastomer used on the underside of bridges to dampen traffic vibration.

The Di11 clubhead has the weight placed low and away from the face to promote a higher ball flight as well as exceptional stability and accuracy with the resulting ultra-wide sole offering improved turf interaction and the ability to cut through the heaviest of rough without sacrificing control. The unparalleled distance from the Wilson Staff Di11 irons is maximised by the lightweight shaft delivering more club head speed but this is achieved without sacrificing control by Wilson’s patented wide-tip shaft technology. The Di11 incorporates a thinner and rounder topline to improve the visual styling at address and inspire confidence in shot-making across all golfers. The performance is such that Wilson Staff major champion Padraig Harrington has included the Di11 3-iron in his bag on blustery links courses to ensure distance and accuracy from the tee.

The Wilson Staff Di11 irons are available with either SL95 wide tip 95g steel shafts, UST Axivcore 65g graphite shafts or the exclusive co-cured Half and Half steel /graphite combination.

Wilson Staff Di11 Irons Review

The Wilson Di11 irons feature an oversized clubhead and, particularly in the shorter irons, was slightly more square looking than we expected. The enlarged cavity back is visible at address on each club above a 7 iron, which may not appeal to everyone. However once you swing them you forget about this as the mid to long irons were a delight to hit and the distance and forgiveness were very good.

The shorter irons, particularly the sand iron, got a little square in appearance and with a smaller cavity on them, the feel was not quite as good as the longer irons. The Uniflex SL-95 steel shaft felt impressive as it adjusts to your swing speed and should make selecting the right shaft easier for the average golfer. Overall, we were very impressed with the Wilson Di11 irns and for the money they are excellent value for mid handicap golfers.

I have played with the Wilson Di7 clubs for the past two years and loved them. The Wilson Di11 irons offer more feel and look superb at address.

I have not found them to provide a huge amount more distance than the Di7's but the quality and excellent shaft makes these a fantastic club to hit.

For anyone with a Mid to High handicap these clubs are fantastic . I play off 17 and they look feel and perform to a very high level. There is alot of hype and marketing ploys in the market but if you want a classy club at an affordable budget give them a try you will not be dissappointed.
