The Wilson Staff Ci9 iron is the third generation of the award winning Ci range that has been designed to combine maximum playability without sacrificing classic looks and workability. The Ci9 is a midsize club aimed to appeal to a wide variety of golfers with a design that boosts confidence at impact whilst retaining a thinner top line and visual characteristics that appeal to better players. With a moderately progressive offset the Ci9 is rated as one of Wilson’s best performing irons ever and offers playability for varying skill levels. Manufactured from soft 431 stainless steel and featuring a one-piece Soft Response Insert that extends across the entire iron cavity, Wilson have ensured the Ci9 offers more feel and a solid impact right across the clubface. The grooves of the Staff Ci9 are modified U-grooves that push the maximum limits of the new specifications introduced by the USGA and R&A, whilst a centre of gravity positioned higher in the face imparts a higher spin rate and promotes the ability to work the ball effectively. The Ci9 features a hidden rear cavity Exoskeleton that improves weight distribution by re-positioning mass towards the heel and tie for a higher MOI and increased stability at impact by maintaining the centre of gravity behind the sweet spot. The Wilson Staff Ci9 irons are available with stock FST Step-Less steel shafts.
The Wilson Staff Ci9 irons have a mid over-sized head that gives lots of feedback. The looks are a bit angular and the wedge looks a bit on the square side, but this can be replaced with a Wilson TW9 wedge. The progressive offset was very subtle through the set and the performance and trajectory were excellent. Combined with a very competitive price this is a great value set of irons for mid to low handicappers who want performance and forgiveness.

Recently bought these irons, and played about 6-7 rounds with them. I'm very happy. My ball striking has become more consistent, they've given me more confidence.A couple of things to note: Firstly, being soft steel means they do mark easily. I've noticed on mine that while in the bag, one club will mark another around the hozel, so I would suggest buying some headcovers. (I carry my bag, so if you use a trolley, this might not be such an issue)Also, the lofts of the PW and SW, mean that the matching Gap Wedge is almost essential. PW is 44 degrees, and the SW is 56, so the 50 degree GW is perfect. Recommened.
